Job Summary

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for business development activities by researching and creatively developing marketing opportunities through strategic planning and social media networking. The Marketing Specialist must have a high positive energy that promotes individual growth and innovative thinking.  This position will support marketing activities in Sacramento (Folsom/Roseville) and the greater Sierra Nevada area, promoting classes, school events, joint promotions (ie: movies) and other in-studio promotions.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Annual Strategy.  Create marketing calendar and plan annual activities in coordination with owner, studio managers and corporation marketing.  Create collateral related to the annual events.  Develop creative ideas that promote business development which further enhances the interest and needs of current and future clients. Identify marketing opportunities through consumer requirements. Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends (ie: The Maker's Movement).
  • Social Media Presence. Social media expert needed to research, write, design and maintain social media posts including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and others. Develop and write web content including blog posts and on-site content. Input data entry of events to website. Other web content tasks as necessary.
  • Event Management.  Responsible for event preparation, set-up and registration and inventory. Working with Studio Managers to ensure staffing and in-studio marketing.   
  • Communication and Material Distribution.  Create promotional displays, packaging, and marketing brochures.  Develop the layout and production design of magazines, newspapers, journals, corporate reports, and other publications.
  • Community Promotions. This individual will work closely with Store Management & the Owner, as a key contact for the studios to help build local connections in-store and in the neighborhood through marketing programs and community building activities.
  • Budgeting and ROI.  Track sales and expenses for each promotion to review for profitability of event.  Forecast future events based on past event data. Create and maintain metrics reports on marketing and sales activities, effectiveness, and business reports.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Media skills. Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of Social Media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, Google+Local, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest etc.) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.  This is from a corporate perspective as well as an individual consumer perspective.
  • Graphic Design. Ability to work with Photoshop to customize corporate generate marketing materials within corporate policy.  
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM).  Ability to track customer data for business trends and analysis.
